I am the business head of a newly established small and medium-sized cross-border foreign trade enterprise. Previously, when I arranged logistics on my own, I often encountered issues such as shipping space shortages, rolled containers, rejected applications due to failed document review, and even incurred port detention fees due to unfamiliarity with new customs regulations.
Now I plan to hire an export freight forwarder, but I am not sure if they can cover the full process from booking, customs declaration, foreign exchange settlement to export tax refund. In particular, we occasionally ship sensitive cargo such as small household appliances with lithium batteries, and I am worried they cannot handle such goods. Besides, RCEP will implement new electronic certificate of origin requirements in 2026, I wonder if the forwarder can help us complete compliant declarations, and if there will be additional hidden costs?
